Here it is, the Christmas Crunch. There are 17.5 days until Christmas, according to the countdown app on my phone. And while I am, overall, in fairly good shape, I’ve got a number of things to do still.
(Sorry for the phone pictures. Like I said, it’s crunch time! Using the real camera would take up so much precious time.)
There are six projects pictured above. Three of them are absolutely-must-finish-by-Christmas projects, and of those three two are not started yet. One of the above projects is basically done, I just need to get my tapestry needles back from my sister. That one actually isn’t a Christmas gift, it’s a prize for a coworker from a charity drawing at work. And the last two could really be late with no consequence whatsoever, but I really want to get them done in time!
In this photo, you can see the three must-finish-by-Christmas items: the Polaris mittens, and three hunks of yarn that are going to become two pairs of Maize mittens. You can also see the edge of the basically-done thing, another Barley hat!
Polaris is coming alone pretty nicely, though. Nearly done. I’m going to block the thumb much more aggressively than the rest of the hand, because I’m a little worried about the length of it. Lily assures me it’s fine, but I want to make certain.
These two don’t strictly have to be done by Christmas. But I really want the cardigan to be done, at least, so Lily can wear it that day. The cardigan is my first adult-sized garment, my Miette. The fingerless mittens are also for Lily, and are also a teeny bit small. Again, she assures me that it’s fine and they fit fine–she hasn’t seen them, but I’ve had her put them on.
I also have one Christmas pipe dream: I would love to wear my Ravenclaw Sweater to Christmas. There is about a 10% chance that I’ll have it finished in time, but maybe if I work super super hard…?
